POSITION SUMMARY:The CEO of the Tate County Economic Development Foundation (TCEDF) provides strategic leadership and direction for economic and community development throughout Tate County. The CEO serves as the Foundation's primary leader and public representative, working closely with businesses, community leaders, elected officials, educational institutions, and regional and state economic development partners.The CEO leads efforts focused on business recruitment, retention, and expansion; job creation and workforce development; community development; and promoting Tate County as a desirable place to live, work, invest, and do business. The position is responsible for developing strong relationships with existing and prospective businesses, identifying opportunities for investment and growth, and connecting businesses with appropriate resources and incentives.The CEO also provides organizational leadership by implementing strategic priorities, managing the Foundation's programs and operations, supporting Board governance, and communicating TCEDF's goals, accomplishments, and opportunities. The CEO will serve as a visible advocate for Tate County and represent the community at local, regional, state, and industry events.The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, strategic planning, and organizational management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and advance the economic interests of Tate County.Residency Requirement: Residency in Tate County is strongly preferred to support active community involvement, accessibility, and a strong understanding of local economic and community priorities. The CEO is expected to establish and maintain a primary residence in Tate County, Mississippi, or within the community within six (6) months of accepting the position. Through collaboration, advocacy, and leadership, the CEO will position TCEDF as a central resource for economic development and help strengthen the long-term economic vitality and quality of life of Tate County.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:-Develop and implement strategic economic development plans and initiatives for Tate County.-Lead business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts to support economic growth and job creation.Identify and pursue industrial, commercial, and retail development opportunities.-Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies regarding grants, incentives, infrastructure, and development programs.-Manage site selection inquiries and maintain relationships with prospective industries and developers.Prepare and oversee budgets, financial reports, and funding requests for TCEDF.-Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for TCEDF at meetings, conferences, and public events.Build and maintain strong partnerships with municipal governments, county officials, educational institutions, utilities, chambers of commerce, and private sector stakeholders.-Oversee marketing and promotional efforts to position Tate County as a competitive location for investment and development.-Supervise the TCEDF staff, consultants, interns, and contracted services as applicable.-Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for the Board of Directors and funding partners.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, grant requirements, and organizational policies.Support workforce development initiatives and collaboration with local schools, colleges, and training providers.-Coordinate special projects, community development initiatives, and strategic planning activities.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economic Development, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred.-Minimum of five years of leadership or management experience in economic development, business development, public administration, or related fields preferred.-Strong knowledge of economic development practices, industrial recruitment, grant administration, and project management.-Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.-Ability to work effectively with elected officials, business leaders, community organizations, and the public.Experience with budgeting, financial management, and strategic planning.-Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business-related software.PREFERRED SKILLS:-Visionary leadership with the ability to advance long-term community and economic growth.-Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.-Knowledge of Mississippi economic development programs and incentives.-Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.-Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
