Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead our economic and community development initiatives. This leadership role involves strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and executing programs that enhance our local economy and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

As the Executive Director, you will develop and implement the organization’s strategic vision for economic growth and community development. Serving as the primary spokesperson and advocate for Grow Ellsworth County, you will build strong partnerships with local businesses, government entities, and community leaders. Your role includes attracting new businesses and supporting existing ones, developing programs to enhance local entrepreneurship and workforce solutions, and leading initiatives for business attraction, retention, and expansion.

In addition, you will collaborate with local attractions and events to boost tourism, organize community events to foster civic pride and engagement, and promote Ellsworth County as a destination for visitors and residents alike. Engaging and supporting members through networking, advocacy, and growth resources, you will enhance member value and participation in organizational activities. You will oversee the organization’s budget, policies, and resources, ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic goals, and supervise staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economic development, public administration, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience. You should have proven experience in strategic planning, economic development, and community engagement, along with strong financial management and organizational leadership skills. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency with QuickBooks, project management tools, Canva, and email marketing software is highly desirable. Experience in website management, social media best practices, and AI applications is also beneficial. Professional certifications or relevant affiliations are a plus.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include a KPERS retirement plan and comprehensive health insurance.
