Who We Are:
Pottawatomie County is one of the most rapidly growing counties in Kansas, with a population of more than 25,000 people of whom 20-25% have a direct relationship with Kansas State University. The county is quite large and diverse with a landmass of 862 square miles, of which slightly less than 1 square mile is shared with the City of Manhattan (1/862nd). The county has huge opportunities for growth if it aligns its development strategies appropriately and leverages the existing strong partnerships with surrounding counties and associations. What We’re Looking For:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: Business leadership and a taste for tackling multifaceted challenges.
Skills: Financial acumen, outstanding communication, diplomacy, and an affinity for problem-solving.
Travel: Ability to travel within the region and occasionally outside of the county to attend meetings and conferences.
Other: The Executive Director must become a resident of Pottawatomie County.
