About Marion CANDO!

Marion CAN DO! is a nonprofit economic development organization founded in 1993 to revitalize Marion County’s economy. Led by a board of trustees and supported by public-private investors, it promotes the region’s assets to attract and retain businesses. As part of the One Columbus regional network, Marion CAN DO! leverages workforce development, site readiness, and strategic partnerships to position Marion as a competitive destination for business growth.

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the board of trustees, the Director of Economic Development will be responsible for researching, planning, and executing economic development activities that result in job creation, business attraction, and retention/expansion of established companies. The Director of Economic Development will engage with various stakeholders to build strong partnerships supporting CANDO’s mission to develop Marion County as a premier destination for businesses and CANDO as an accomplished leader in local development, growth, and quality of life.
